After qualifying as a hairstylist, Mike wasted no time in establishing his mark in the industry. In 1980, he opened his own salon in Fairlands, Johannesburg, showcasing not only his technical expertise but also his entrepreneurial spirit. The salon quickly gained popularity, becoming a go-to destination for those seeking top-notch hairstyling services.

Life’s Journey

In 1983, Mike sold his salon in Johannesburg and embarked on a journey that took him to Port Elizabeth and Port Alfred. Return to Johannesburg

In 1994, after a decade away, Mike returned to Johannesburg, where he met Marius. The couple decided to invest their passion for hairstyling by purchasing Salon Reflexions in Hartenbos. Over the years, they transformed the salon into a thriving business, attracting a diverse clientele.

A New Beginning: Salon Bardolino in Diaz

In November 2022, Mike decided to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of daily salon operations. However, the fire for hairstyling still burned within him. In January 2024, he seized the opportunity to reignite his passion by launching of his brand “Hair By Mike”at Salon Bardolino in Diaz, Mossel Bay.

This new venture promises a unique and personalized experience, combining Mike’s seasoned expertise with a fresh, youthful approach.

Personal Passions and Interests

Beyond the salon, Mike finds joy in entertaining, cooking, and spending quality time at home with his partner Marius and their beloved fur child, Benji. His love for travel, theater, and embracing the art of living adds a personal touch to the salon experience at Hair By Mike.
